Happy Birthday Katie

It was my roommate and my best friend here (Katie)'s birthday on Sunday and so I just wanted to dedicate this to her.

On Saturday a bunch of us went to a chinese karaoke restaurant here. SO fun! We did it for my birthday and we just had to go back. I think it's going to be a tradition now.

This was the little party we had for her on her real birthday.

Our homemade cake :)

Pocahontas

So I auditioned for this entertainment company a couple months ago that called RWS and associates. They do random little entertainment gigs like show's at malls, and big special events, and even theme parks.

Anyway so they called me up at asked me if I could do a little gig for a few hours one night. So they told me I had to walk around like Pocahontas and be cheesy and happy at a children's ball!
All I had to say was, "Okay, so be like myself for a night and get paid for it?"

As you can see of course I took the job and I abosutely loved it!

The theme of the children's ball was "Treasure Hunt." So here I am with 'Explorer' (above) and 'Pirate Paul' (below)
Only a couple of characters that strolled around with me for the night :)

I thought the only reason they picked me for Pocahontas was because of my hair, but I actually had to wear a wig (as you can see).
Strangely enough, people thought my wig was my real hair??? haha. It's a little outrageous.

1. He's in one of my favorite movies of all time, '10 Things I Hate About You.'
2. His Smile.
3. His Australian Accent.
4. His Deep Voice.
5. His Talent.
6. The fact that he looks like my brother Scott.
7. I melt every time he sings 'Your Just to Good to be True.'
8. His Body.
9. His name is a candy bar.
10. His appearances in my dreams.

What will 2008 bring for me?

Faith.
When going into this "theatre business" I realize that I definitely need A LOT of faith.
Not knowing IF you'll get a job, IF you get the part, IF you get money, can all be very risky and very likely. For any means of survival, faith is required in this field.
This year I am going to focus more on how to strengthen my faith and realize that...
everything will be alright.
everything does happen for a reason.
everything that happens is for the good.

“Faith is an invisible and invincible magnet, and attracts to itself whatever it fervently desires and calmly and persistently expects.”
-Ralph Waldo Trine

“Take the first step in faith. You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.”
-Martin Luther King Jr.

“Faith is the bird that feels the light and sings when the dawn is still dark.”

Self-Empowerment.
"BE WHO YOU ARE and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."
-Dr. Seuss

Finding that true woman inside of me and letting that shine.
Being with myself.
Loving myself.
Discovering the peaceful energy inside myself that I can give to others.
Knowing who I am on a higher level.

I mean I'm the only one that has to be with myself all the time? Why not have good/peaceful company?

"To Thine Ownself Be True!"
-Shakespeare

Updates: Nov 2007 - Jan 2008

Sorry everyone who reads my blog! I discovered that I really do suck at blogging, but I'll try to keep it updated more. This is what's been going on in my life these past few months.

(Start at the bottom and work your way back to the top)

I love Point Park, and so does my family. We're a Point Park Family! haha no one in St. George even knows what or where Point Park is, but I love that we have this on our car anyway :)

I saw my AMAZING teachers from high school, Mr. Saxton (Drama Teacher and Director) and Mrs. Snow (Choir and Madrigals Teacher) while I was home. If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't have survived high school. And I probably wouldn't be here today. Thanks you two :)

I said good-bye to my dear friend Glenn for 3 1/2 years :( But hopefully he'll come visit me in Pittsburgh before he leaves on his mission! :)

Salsa Dancing: Scott and I totally went all out for the occasion... of course. Leather pants and all... haha I love him.

I love my family so much! It was so nice to just hang out at home with my family all of Christmas break.

Brothers.. gotta love 'em.

Becky (sister) and I are pretty much awesome. Loved spending time with her... as always.

My niece Kailyn (above) and my nephew Landon (below) are so adorable! I love being an aunt!

Came back to the STG, had fun with "The StG SiX"... all of my wonderful friends! So FUN. Trent Cox, Karly Staples, Taylor Brown, Chelsea Wilson, and Glenn Rowley.

Tony the Tiger came to calm us down during finals week. Definately one of my highlights here at Point Park.

Downtown Light Up Night! It's where they light up the tree in the middle of the city that has an ice skating rink around it... which is a block away from my school... yeah don't worry about it ;)

We camped out in front of the registration office to get the teachers we wanted. So fun :)

Nov. 29 I turned 19! My friends threw me a surprise birthday bash. They also took me on a scavenger hunt, which actually ended at a Chinese Karaoke Bar. It was golden.

Thanksgiving in Ohio with my friend Kate. WooHoo!

Crew for "Streets of America" FINALLY ended..
